Event details

Showcasing the inaugural graduating cohort from the MA Music Therapy programme, Resonance Rising represents not only outcomes, but the emergence of new voices shaping the future of music therapy practice.

This showcase traces a meaningful journey shaped by listening, connection and personal transformation. Grounded in the evolving discourse of music therapy, it reflects a progression from awareness to action, and ultimately to impact.

Beginning with the recognition of lived experiences, the works presented embody deep attunement to the diverse realities of individuals and communities. Through this process of perceiving, music becomes a medium for understanding, empathy, connection and presence.

Building on this foundation, the showcase highlights the role of music therapy as a relational and responsive practice. Through clinical insight, creativity and intentional intervention, these emerging practitioners demonstrate how music can support alignment, restoration and growth. Each presentation reflects the dynamic process of facilitating healing—where sound, silence and shared musical experiences foster meaningful change.

At its culmination, Resonance Rising celebrates the outcomes of this journey: empowerment, expression and the amplification of voices that may otherwise go unheard. It marks not only the achievements of this pioneering cohort, but also their readiness to contribute to the wider field with sensitivity, innovation and purpose.

From perceiving lived realities, facilitating healing, to elevating voices—this journey reflects the transformative potential of music therapy in practice and in people.
